An international manufacturing company is actively looking for a Technical Sales Engineer in the Houston, TX area. The ideal candidate has a strong background with rotating equipment/compressors.
Responsibilities:
- Identify target markets, customers and opportunities, and conduct business meetings to win new aftermarket business.
- Responsible for maximizing sales revenue with existing customers as well as developing new customers.
- Search for new clients who could benefit from your products in a designated region.
- Act as the primary liaison between customers and cross functional team members to ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions to support our customer’s needs.
- Research prospective new customers and make proactive sales & survey calls for the purpose of generation of new business.
- Travelling to visit potential clients.
- Negotiating contract terms.
- Prepare and provide quotes to customers as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Have a good understanding of rotating equipment such as screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, pumps, turbines, etc.
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) and/or Business or combined education and experience.
- 5+ years' experience in Sales, Marketing or Business Development.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Must be able to travel up to 50%
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
